Ancient Germanic Wolf and Bear warriors.
According to the legends Romulus and Remus were wolf warriors. The same Indo-european warrior tradition existed in the north up to the viking age. Notice also that the Spartan trainer and law writer (Lycurgus of Sparta), Lycurgos means wolf or wolf trainer.
