The 25-story 95 State at City Creek in Salt Lake City is a mixed-use marvel blending architecture, engineering, and craftsmanship. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the building combines a sleek glass tower with a limestone base that complements nearby structures and houses a Church meetinghouse. Its complex façade features sawtooth limestone fins and recessed windows, challenging engineers and contractors to develop innovative installation techniques. Alabama limestone was chosen for its thickness and character, despite its high moisture content. Inside, the lobby is a showpiece of design and precision, with a 220-foot-long vein-matched Lasa Bianca marble wall and granite flooring. The marble was hand-selected in Italy and installed with exacting care by KEPCO+ using drone reviews and clean rooms. The result is a stunning, seamless interior that reflects SOM’s commitment to timeless detail and craftsmanship, celebrated by both the builders and the public alike.
