bit.ly/opWcy6 Anatomy of the human hand, based on vascular injection and CT scanning. The arms of a fresh (unfixed) cadaver of a white human male (mid-50s in age) named Frank were subjected to Differential-Contrast Dual-Vascular Injection (DCDVI) at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine under the direction Lawrence Witmer and Donald Kincaid. They were subsequently CT scanned at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio, by Heather Rockhold, RT and Witmer. Ryan Ridgely (WitmerLab) did all of the analysis, segmentation, and 3D visualization in Amira, Maya, and QuickTime, under consultation with Witmer. Labeling of frames was done by Ashley Morhardt and William Porter (WitmerLab). Open-access and freely downloadable QuickTime movies and 3D PDFs of this and similar animations are available at: http://www.oucom.ohiou.edu/dbms-witmer/3D_human.htm.
