Certain bands demand to be remembered in death, even if they weren't recognized in their life. Such is the triumph and tragedy of Anasarca. Discography 1994-1997 collects this short-lived Washington, DC group's two seven-inch and demo recordings in one package, and presents them as memorial to a criminally overlooked hardcore band of the mid-'90s. These seven songs demonstrate Anasarca's vision, leaning towards the noisier, indie punk side of the hardcore sphere, sharing commonalties with seminal acts Sparkmarker and Shotmaker, highlighted by sounds from their hometown. Anasarca layered melodic discord with metallic rhythms, a deft knowledge of when to unleash and when to restrain themselves for maximum effect, earnest vocals more willing to be screamed and sung rather than growled, and a sincerity and artistry found wanting in much of aggressive music. Discography 1994-1997 demonstrates one thing about Anasarca: those who remember don't need to be told about their greatness, those who don't just need to listen.

Lyrics:
She too has the hands of love
that hold the long time beauty
to create yourself
You had to let me help
I saw it as something to steal
Stolen beauty what a sight to see
You took the upper hand
I lost. I stole. I ran.
She holds down hands
Sweetly cracked palms of which will never be hers
You've got to know what you had to say
You took what you created and you ran away
She tried to make you
I told her not to follow
She made me make you
Sometimes I don't believe your sorrow
That made me build you
That makes me build you
You built the one
Sometimes it works
Follow me down
I built it myself
She too has the hands of love
that hold the long time beauty
to create yourself
You had to let me help
I saw it as something to steal
Stolen beauty what a sight to see
You took the upper hand
I lost. I stole. I ran.
I made you
You let me
I'm sorry
I'm sorry
I made you
You let me
I built you
I'm sorry
I made you
You let me
I'm sorry you made me follow you down
She holds down hands
Sweetly cracked palms of which will never be hers

Thenceforward was a hardcore band from Atlanda, GA, active in the mid 90s.
Thenceforward as a collective unit do not adhere to any particular hardcore convention. Were not naive enough to believe that were going to change the world, though we salute those who try. We use Thenceforward as an outlet for aggression, energy, fun, traveling, and expression of opinions. But from the other hand, each member of this band upholds his own beliefs, standards, opinions and lifestyle. No one member of Thenceforward can serve as a representative of the others, as were all individuals. (As well as cliché writers). In summation, keep rocking, heshing, banging, thrashing, and beware the total fucking metal slaughter.

In September of 1996, Shoulder went back in studio for the third and final time and recorded five songs. The first two of these songs were released on the ”Kindling” 7″ which was released by the same labels, although Winter Records had by then changed name to Rhythm of Sickness and Conquer the World Records used its short-lived subsidiary “Conquer the World Black” (aka “CTW Black”) to put out this release. The third song was meant to be on a compilation for Rhythm of Sickness Records, “The Cold Front” which never happened. The fourth and fifth songs would be used on the Goodfellow Records compilation “The Difference Between Us“, and on the split with Morning Again on Moo Cow Records, both in 1997.
