In this video:
I am going to analyze the Radio Shack Astro Thunder (UK FireFox F-7) to determine substitute (or Form Fit Function) replacement of the diodes found on the game's mother board. This video (although quite disconnected from the release date of Kip Hakes' videos) was made in response to assist anyone who watched those videos and are looking to repair their own similar device.
List of Diode Substitutions:
S05/S06/S09 = 1N4454
S10 = ZPD7.5
S11 = ZPD5.1
S12 = ZPD9.1

Also, because it was asked in the comment. @PhilipBryden developed schematics for this game. Some values are missing (like the diodes) but he has already accomplished the hard work of getting a schematic created.
