This is how I flew from Australia to Canada and saved myself over $3,000 in the process. It's the ANA Hack!

Rather than flying directly from Sydney to Vancouver with either Qantas or Air Canada I decided to fly via Tokyo Japan with ANA, the Japanese airline.
