Nick arrives home after a long shift to find Aunt Marie cooking dinner and conversing with Juliette. Surprised by her unannounced arrival and ailing appearance, Nick embraces her. Marie insists they need to talk privately about his future. While walking in the park at night, Marie reveals the truth about Nick's parents' deaths and his terrifying inheritance as a Grimm. Their conversation is violently interrupted by a Reaper of the Grimms, a monstrous assassin. Nick is forced to shoot the attacker to save Marie's life.
