In 1968, BOAC 712 was departing Heathrow, and suffered a catastrophic engine explosion that tore through the wing and set the aircraft ablaze. What followed was a desperate struggle to bring the plane back to the runway and a cabin crew’s extraordinary act of heroism that saved over a hundred lives.
