In this heartfelt interview from Unitarian Anabaptist, Tim and Kassie Woodard share about their journey to recognize the role of Jesus in their lives today, how Sam Tideman’s presentation at UCA Conference 2022 changed their faith practice, and the glimpses of God’s kingdom that we get to experience right here and right now.

“Our goal isn’t just to grow in knowledge. What we’re really trying to focus on is the carrying out of what we know into action. How we treat our brothers and sisters. How we engage in community. How we try to break down these walls of division that have resulted from a lack of humility in many cases. We’re finding people from different backgrounds and different denominations who are willing to engage and have discussion. We invite lots of people into our home… we’re finding that’s been very fruitful, not to try to outreach and win people to our side, but to try to build bridges with folks who come from a different perspective. We’ve discovered that the basic, simple gospel message can get clouded up by lots of academic knowledge if it’s coming from a self-righteous perspective. Most of what we’re doing now isn’t about learning something new – it’s about unlearning prior positions we’ve held. An accurate knowledge is very important, but it’s not supposed to be complicated. The message is simple.” – Tim Woodard
