The Economic Club of Washington, D.C. hosted a special Signature Event providing an Insider's Look at Major League Baseball on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Economic Club Chair David Rubenstein, Chairman, CEO, and Principal Owner, Baltimore Orioles, moderated a discussion with:
• Cal Ripken, Jr., Minority Owner, Baltimore Orioles and Hall of Famer - Retired from baseball in 2001 after 21 seasons with the Orioles. He was later inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
• Mike Elias, President of Baseball Operations and General Manager, Baltimore Orioles - Promoted ahead of the 2025 season, he leads the Orioles’ baseball operations and shapes the organization’s next chapter, including plans to expand his front-office team.
• Catie Griggs, President of Business Operations, Baltimore Orioles - Joined the Orioles in 2024 and oversees the club’s business strategy and fan experience while driving new community and growth initiatives.
• Craig Albernaz, Manager, Baltimore Orioles - Recently hired ahead of the 2026 season, he joins the Orioles with prior MLB coaching experience in Cleveland and San Francisco and now leads the Orioles’ on-field strategy, player development, and clubhouse culture.
