An idea I'm exploring: The Gorillas of Ballet.
I've loved Rodin forever. His Burghers of Calais are men walking to their execution, bowed, surrendering to the weight of it. So I wanted to flip my favorite thing on its head: a gorilla defying gravity. One toe, mid turn, all that mass floating like it never agreed to the rules. His figures sink. Mine pirouettes.
Turns out the strongest thing a 400 pound silverback can do is point his toe and rise. The manosphere spends all day flexing about alpha this and sigma that, and here's the actual apex male body choosing grace over grunting. Peak masculinity was ballet the whole time.
My drawing is the start of the idea for a sculpture. Clay maquette first to find the balance point, then see where it goes.
