DivKid | An Experimental Soundscape Synth for Eurorack // ONEIROI from BEFACO @DivKid | Uploaded 2 months ago | Updated 1 hour ago
Here we have the highly anticipated ONEIROI from Befaco who say that it is a “experimental synth voice focused on ambient pads and drone-like soundscapes”. Working entirely in stereo we have oscillators, sines, supersaws, wavetables, a varispeed looper, input instrument interfacing, filtering, combs, resonators, echos, ambience, reverbs and lots of CV control.
In this video we take a methodical approach to going through Oneiroi’s features and sounds with lots of musical examples throughout. Check out the timing index below so you skip through the chapters to listen to and learn everything you could desire.

The idea of some live mix polish, simple hardware mastering for modular/dawless/live set ups or simple a characterful parallel processor and DI box is certainly an exciting one. The Golden Master from Endorphines builds on inspiration from classic ‘90s mastering rack units and their experiences with live performances with synths & modular and puts together a box of multi band compression, EQ and multi band stereo mid/side based stereo enhancement.
This pedal version offers presets, sidechain or expression pedal inputs, stereo ins and outs, per band mutes (handy for setting up each band but also as a performative frequency dependent set of mutes!) and parallel processing (i.e. dry/wet mixing) options.

This is the first fulsome PEDALS & PATCHES video. A new series where I explore FX pedals in the context of synths and electronic music alongside other instruments and wider studio/production contexts. Guitar pedals were the first bit of gear to really catch my eye many moons ago so I’m looking forward to exploring them in a creative way and sharing that with you.

*NOTE //* I’m running firmware 1.2 which is very recent (12th of Feb 2024). I did experience some noise with the device on older firmware but the latest firmware has improved that drastically. The new firmware reduced the noise that can be apparent in some situations and also lowered the compression make up gain. I just wanted to add clarity to that to ensure you’re listening to and experiencing the same things if you have a Golden Master. I love a good delay and this has been a great delay that’s given a wide range of musical results. The Time Machine from OAM (Olivia Artz Modular) is a multi-tap delay with various timing, spread and clocking options as well as the ability to create custom blends on 8 delay taps and time divisions. This led to designing custom reverb ambiences and even finding a ‘Dynamic Rhythm Designer’ that allowed for making hi hat and bass rhythms in an intriguing way. Lots of links and the timing below.
