As a follow-up to our current issue feature on whaling, Micah Garen interviewed Canadian activist —and "persona non-grata in Iceland" Paul Watson. Famous for his protest group Sea Shepherd, Paul is credited with sinking two whaling boats in Iceland in 1986, though he has so far avoided persecution.
Speaking with Micah, he stated “If the Icelandic Coast Guard does overpower our ship, if they do arrest us, that will be okay with us because then we'll finally have the trial that we've been wanting for the last 40 years.”
