Ethel Cain, whose real name is Hayden Silas Anehdonia, has gained a massive cult like following ever since the release of “Preachers Daughter’ in 2022. Preachers Daughter has been reviewed, reacted to, and endlessly dissected, but today I wanted to do something different and focus on the woman behind Ethel Cain: Hayden Silas Anehdonia. In this Ethel Cain documentary, we will dive deep into Hayden’s early life, her homeschooling and religious upbringing, autism and neurodivergent art, her early “White Silas” music eras, “Inbred” & the roots of the Ethel Cain character, Preachers Daughter and the transmuation of trauma into art, and then finish by explaining how Ethel Cain represents a turning point in popular culture where queer people increasingly reclaim their small town, religious cultural roots.
