The treatise was written by Thomas Cadwalader and published in 1745 by Benjamin Franklin. It's an Essay on the West-India Dry-Gripes and this is important because it may be one of the first medical treatise published in North America. West-India Dry-Gripes is lead poisoning from drinking lead from alcoholic drinks.
