One of the most prominent steam railroads was the Denver & Rio Grande Western. Many railroads across the United States were standard gauge meaning the rails were 4 feet 8 and a half inches apart, however, the D&RGW also had a very famous narrow gauge portion of track meaning only 3 feet between the rails. Today we listen to the sounds of the past on today's Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. While this video is mainly for the audio of what you'd hear many years ago, don't overlook the views these railroads have to offer today.
