The 2017 Redfern Wildlife of Madagascar Expedition were really lucky to have a close encounter with an aye-aye (Daubentonia madagascariensis).
This nocturnal species is perhaps the strangest, but also most interesting member of the lemur family. It has a strange, reduced digit on its finger to winkle out grubs and insects from holes in trees and a unique hair coat.
