About two weeks ago—right before Thanksgiving—I kicked off the holidays with an early boys’ trip to Universal Studios Hollywood with my dad, plus my friends Adam and Jim. It was their first time ever at Universal, and they were hyped! We stayed for three nights, spent day one exploring CityWalk, and then dove head-first into the park for the next two days. We hit almost every ride in sight—except the Fast & Furious coaster, which isn’t opening until next year. (Next time!)
One of the sweetest moments was watching Adam, a lifelong Back to the Future fan, light up when he met Doc Brown. He even told Doc he wished he could travel back to the 2000s, the time he grew up in. Seeing that joy in my friend made the whole trip feel meaningful.
After our Universal adventure, we drove back to Sacramento, dropped Adam and Jim off safely in Elk Grove, and settled in to prepare for Thanksgiving.
