Read To Me At Midnight | An Audiobook for When Autumn Falls Away @ReadToMeAtMidnight | Uploaded November 2020 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
So, this is a bit of an experimental video for me! For the last week of November, I wanted to mark the seasons changing, wanted to mark the shift from Autumn to Winter. A book that reflects the joy, cosiness, warmth, chill and terror of the shifting seasons is Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. The audiobook, a section of which is played in this video (abridged from the original text), used to bring me great comfort when I was a child and couldn’t sleep. The idea was to do the same for you, this video is supposed to act as a soothing, calming part of your day, the audio paired with gorgeous illustrations of the story by Grahame Baker-Smith.
The sound effects were compiled by me using sound effects from iMovie and Epidemic Sound, I hope it’s not too jarring or distracting! As this video is very much an experiment and I’m fully expecting it to flop, please let me know in the comments if you enjoyed it and would like similar videos in the future!
The audiobook used in this video is narrated by Derek Jacobi, the physical edition of the book is written by Kenneth Grahame, with illustrations by Grahame Baker-Smith.
