I kicked off the morning with dew-soaked shoes and a mission: blueberries. One bush in, and I was already dreaming of pie. Not apple pie, mind you—it's the Fourth of July, but apples are out of season. Blueberries and cherries are the real heroes here. Between whipping up the best baked beans this side of the Mississippi (thanks to molasses, hickory smoke, and a whole lotta bacon) and wrangling flowers into “firework-themed” bouquets, it was a full-blown homestead celebration. I even pulled together a gluten-free blueberry crumble for my daughter-in-law because no one should miss out on pie. Come along as I pick, bake, arrange, and try to keep everything from falling apart before the guests arrive. Just a typical day of joy on the homestead! ♥
