Dj CutmanFriday Night Funkin' is so good, like the whole package. the songs, the music, the story, all top tier imo. FNF entered my life as a rare gem of joy, totally unexpected and totally slappin'
I listened to the OST non-stop for a week, then I made this remix. The Newgrounds team lives not too far from where I live in Philadelphia, even went out and visit their offices one time. Super great group of people.
Back in high school I was making Flash animations and uploading it to Newgrounds. I'm Sound-O-Vision on there, if u want to blam me or w/e.

i've wanted to make this video for a long time, but i kept holding off becuase i was awaiting for these new lights i kickstarted a million years ago. well they finally showed up and are very cool, controlable from my tablet, i was dynamically changing the lighting during this video.
there's a pretty brutal 6 second delay on my controls tho, so i missed some cues... hope you don't mind! I think it still looks pretty rad. thankfully the sound is reliable as ever from the Audio Technica LP 120USB, direct out of the turntable into my iPhone 13 Pro for recording.
i'd like to make a video like this for all the GameChops records when I have time – but I just had a baby! i'm officially off from my label duties for the next couple months, so i have some moments when the baby is down to play some records and manage to film this one.

thanks for watching and reading the description. hope to make more videos like this in the future. if you have a moment, leave a comment – i don't always reply but i do check them! thanks for watching~
– Cjust got Mega Man 2 on vinylDj Cutman2022-08-17 | ...Sonic Spinball but it’s on vinylDj Cutman2022-07-30 | it's been a while! just got the Sonic Spinball soundtrack on vinyl and just had to make a video. i LOVED this game as a kid, and as adult it's still super fun. but man, idk if i've ever made it past that third stage!
The first song is "Toxic Caves", the first stage of the game. Most players will remember this for its grimy bassline and slick grooves. I give it a flip to Side B to "The Machine" a really funky IDM kind of tune. both tracks are played 10% slower than 45RPM, I find Genesis / FM Synth music gets super deep when slowed.
I show of my new lights, they're called TEKE and I kickstarted them over one thousand years ago. Just experimenting with presets today, once I learn to program them I'm excited to try out new lighting arrangements for these videos.
this record was pressed by Data Discs, imo the most legendary and consistent video game record label in the whole dang world. They've pressed my personal favorite #vgmvinyl Streets of Rage by Yuzo Koshiro. So when I saw they were doing the official Sonic Spinball, I had to pick it up!
Sonic Spinball was composed by Howard Drossin, Brian Coburn & Barry Blum, originally published for Sega Genesis in 1993.Dj Cutman & Bknapp - Sea of Time (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon)Dj Cutman2022-07-19 | – POKÉ TAPE drops on September 2nd – After bopin' to his beats for years and years, me and @BKnapp finally collaborated on this track "Sea of Time" from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time, composed by Arata Iiyoshi. http://vgm.fm/seatime

I know I don't upload much anymore, to be honest @GameChops has been doing so well and so much good music has been coming through the label has had all my attention.
I am still releasing music as Dj Cutman fairly regularly (shoutout to my followers on Spotify / Apple / Tidal ) but to be honest it's tough to make videos! I was thinking of doing like a sesonable roundup video where i make a mix of a bunch of songs that came out in the same time period, how would that sound to you? lmk in the comments ~
Here's some nice stuff the label wrote about the song: Father-and-son duo Dj Cutman and Robert Davidson team up on “I Think My Dad is a Phantom Thief” — a Persona 5-inspired blend of jazzy guitar grooves and funky beats.
Robert Davidson is a composer and guitarist, who’s been producing music of all genres for decades. Following in his footsteps is Dj Cutman, as a producer, engineer, beatmaker, and founder of GameChops! Taking influence from the soundtrack of Persona 5 and its composer Shoji Meguro, “I Think My Dad is a Phantom Thief” is the latest of the duo’s collaborations.
I brought in my old friend DJ-R to help with the arrangement of this one. I'm particularly fond of the B section, which features a reharmonized a riff and a beat I'm really proud of. Hope you like it!

Taking its cues from Super Mario World, “Star Road” is a fresh blend of smooth jazz, chill beats, and the sounds of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Button Masher is the project of Grammy-nominated arranger and jazz pianist Jake Silverman.
Jake joins forces with GameChops founder and mixer Chris Davidson, better known as Dj Cutman, on “Star Road” — an original composition with dreamy chords, grooving bassline, and crisp production.

Katamari Damacy was really a formative soundtrack for me, "Lonely Rolling Star" being a prime example.
Big compressed drums, lighthearted arpeggios, square wave leads... so many key elements of my own productions you can hear in this song!
It makes sense, though. This game came out when I was in college, and it was so wild and weird and off the wall everyone fell in love with it.
And THE MUSIC, my goodness.
I had never played a game with such a soundtrack. I hadn't yet started to produce music, but the inspiration had already taken root.
I picked up this record from Mondo when I first started collecting records, just after I got my turntable. It was my first game soundtrack on vinyl!
If you followed me back then, you might have remember a livestream where my heavy-ass DSLR camera fell on this album while I was streaming it! It cracked the record, but to my fortune, Mondo had not yet sold out and I just ordered another copy. (VGMVinyl collectors, can you believe there was a time where this record wasn't sold out??)
The holidays can be a stressful time, with travel and seeing family (or not seeing family). I liked the upbeat vibes of Katamari Damacy. The game and soundtrack both give me the impression of determination. To not know how you might approach a situation, but being focused and ready to take it on! That's what Katamari Damacy means to me.
Hope you enjoy this video, and thanks for reading! If this music brought you a little joy today, leave a comment and let me know.

I'm recording this vide on my AT-LP120XUSB, audio is going direct from the turntable to iPhone Pro to record, video captured in FlimicPro. 33RPM, slowed down 8%. I'm using the blue cartridge because it sounds better than the green. If anyone would care for model numbers, lmk in the comments
It feels good to upload a video again. The old DJ saying is "you can't move a party" and I guess it's taken me a lot of time to get settled in my new house. But I'm feeling settled and the studio is looking good, so now's a good enough a time as ever to fire up the old phone and make some vinyl videos. anything in particular you'd like to hear? I've got the Persona 5 box set arriving soon!
Sorry about the savage no warning ending. I'm going to leave teh camera on for a few seconds afterwards. maybe show the album cover again?
Hey, thanks for reading. Super cool of you. Enjoy the music, and I'll see you next time ❄️DEKU PALACE ▸ Bknapp & Dj Cutman (Zelda Remix)Dj Cutman2021-11-03 | I remixed Bknapp's Deku Palace from his album Terrible Fate. I have this album on vinyl and it's fun to play. I think this track is the first track of Side B, and one time I started up the turntable at -16% speed and was floored at how hard this track hit (and it hit hard already!)
So I experimented with my different cartridges, a few from Audio Technica and a few DJ Style from Japan (TARUYA). For this, I used a higher end Blue AT cart that came with one of my higher-end turntables. I forgot the model numbers rn but comment if u are curious. This track was recorded from a less deluxe turntable, but one with a a direct USB out for audio. I think the lighter table is a fair tradeoff to get audio that is captured directly from the source.
This USB audio is right from the needle, no other amps or converters. I believe this recording is the best representation of hearing the vinyl in the room. The device that's converting the analog signal to digital audio is modern, purpose-built converter that should (in theory) give us a perfect capture every time. I think the added gain from the Blue AT cartridge also served the track and made it huge!
then, of course, I mastered it. Since the audio was already mastered when pressed to vinyl, I didn't have to compress very much. But I did use EQ to correct for balance issues that happen when changing the speed of a recording. gaps in the frequency range that we're accustomed too, mostly this weird kind of hollow sounding low mids. once I corrected with an analog style EQ (Waves SSL) and limited it for loudness, we get what you hear now. I think DEKU PALACE hit harder than ever.
congratulations on reading this far!! wow damn I just got my cat back from having his tooth pulled and all I can seem to muster up the energy to do is write in this dang ol' text box. thanks for reading, and supporting my channel. see you next time, -Cutman
Featuring bright chords, upbeat grooves, and a little sax, A CYBER’S WORLD is a high-energy house remix from UK-based producer Curly and GameChops founder Dj CUTMAN. Curly has been releasing music with GameChops since 2016, and in 2021 they released their full-length Animal Crossing tribute album, Nook & Chill. A CYBER’S WORLD comes from chapter 2 of the indie hit videogame Deltarune, and introduces a brand-new world to be explored.
It's also on all major music stores, I'll update this with more links later today.
Usually I'd make a full length album video, but for whatever reason views are crazy down lately, so I decided to give myself a break and just make this little update video for y'all.
Hope you enjoy TURBO MODE! if you have a particular song you'd like me to upload to this channel, let me know in the comments.
Some of you may know I moved to a new house recently, and I'm still building out the setup. Very happy to have two turntables and my mixer set up downstairs. I can finally live my dream of DJing during dinner.
More videos coming soon, I hope. Owning a house is like a never-ending project, but I expect in the next couple weeks I'll find some time for the decks once again. Thanks for sticking with me.

I've been so busy at @GameChops lately, I haven't had much time to make these vinyl videos. I actually recorded this one back in January, recently found it, and decided to post it! Hope you enjoy.
If I get some more time, I'd like to make more of these videos before I have to move in the springtime. If I made some more, would you like more Undertale, or something new? Let me know in the comments.
So naturally, I ordered their vinyl record, because I am addicted to wax.
This morning, I was lifting weights. While I was pumpin' iron to this record, I thought, man I sure would love to rave to this!!
Back in the before times, we used to RAVE. Man, I sure would like to RAVE today!! Maybe I could get that spirit through the dark medium known as VINYL....
I played the record back faster, increasing the speed roughly 12.8%. Then I ran it through my mixer (1202VLZ4) where I shaped it with EQ.
