For so long I'd been dying to edit a Lan perspective AMV, as I'd felt that was lacking with the MDZS novel extras. How much I wanted to read thoughts from his perspective, and how I longed and wanted to edit this into life, but never had the right song.

That was until my Spotify (which is always the culprit), recommended me this song, back in August.

This song is probably one of my favourites ever now. It vocalises loss and mourning in such a raw and beautiful way. T__T I'm so happy I got to edit to it, and I hope Blake Rose becomes more popular - his songs and new album are incredible and underrated.

The video goes through the stages of mourning and regret for LWJ. The first section is the present, and it goes through scenes from his childhood and an imagined present with Wei (represented by the ethereal effects on WWX). Then the video goes back to his teen years where he gradually fell in love, and when they also gradually fell apart and ended up on opposite sides of the battlefield. He tries to save him, but is forced to watch as WWX is hunted down - and his biggest regrets were not doing more for him in the present.

So, this video is a representation of the regret and depression LWJ felt during the 13 years before WWX's return. The title of the AMV is a flip on the title of LWJ's character song (thanks Amy for the idea!).

I had a lot of fun learning how to use new effects for this. Some of the twixtor turned out amazing, some not so much (where I covered up with blurs) but I guess it still adds aesthetic. I got tired of fiddling around so much so I settled. x_x

I'm so happy I managed to edit my idea (I have way too many MDZS amvs I'm doing at the same time) and this is my most ambitious one! Hopefully my other AMVs won't take too long -nervous laugh- .
