Giovanni Bruno, Robotics and Solutions Architect at Arduino, outlines the robotics capabilities of Arduino VENTUNO Q and presents a proof-of-concept industrial AMR.

The project consists of a mobile platform and a 6DOF robotic arm, both controlled by the VENTUNO Q. The AMR runs entirely on ROS 2 and uses ros_control for joint management. SLAM algorithms are also employed to allow the robot to understand its surroundings and navigate its environment.

The system even includes a pair of RealSense cameras: one on the mobile platform for stereo vision and 3D mapping, and another on the end effector of the robotic arm to locate objects and determine depth for precise grasping via AI. An HDMI monitor displays real-time telemetry and LEDs are connected to the VENTUNO Q via micro-ROS to demonstrate the integration of various technologies.
