That is correct... I've gotten Amplitube5 to run on Linux.
You need Wine-staging and Yabridge. If I get at least 12 people asking me to make a tutorial then I will be happy to oblige. Otherwise, google "Amplitube on Linux via Yabridge" and you should find your answers.
