Darkness full and darkness deep,
Greatest truth do Thy vaults keep.
Time itself doth come undone,
In Thy hands that gently come
Softest warning to bespeak,
Whispering in deepest peak
Of the coming of the Night
That shall break all craving's might.
Silence sweet and silken song,
Quiv'ring quiet, here belong.
Softest quilt of chasmal black
All a showing, front to back.
In Thy muteness to reveal
Being's final, sacred seal.
Power endless Thou dost give
Unto those that do yet live
In Thy blessed company
Sunk into Thy melody
Of a placid, humming pulse,
Writhing deep under the calls
Of voice and will and effort still,
Calling in a different tune
Men with Shadow to commune.
Deep and simple and sincere,
Thou canst but be welcome, here...
