This one was a bit tricky to get through, even though I used a written walktrough.
This game has not been longplayed before, couldn't find a single video walkthrough (at least not on YouTube), only a text-based one, which had several errors, steps forgotten and stuff in it. So had to figure some stuff out by myself (which is how games SHOULD be played :), I know, but takes forever then to get to the end). This is nothing new for me when going by a written walkthrough to see errors that gets you stuck. What helps me out is just checking the game files for clues, like in the case of the box, that the written solution says to first "look box", then again "look box", so I tried everything I could think of after doing the first "look box". So, text-searched for this box in the game files (there's always several instances of everything, so had to read in many different places for clues), anyway, turns out I needed to "move box" to reveal the vial. So "look box" then "move box" (probably don't need to "look box" first ofc, but it adds more info about stuff).
Another issue I had was with the game itself. It's when it displays more text than fits the text box, so it auto-scrolls outside so we can't read it (unless we pause the video). And while the game have many hotkeys to use, none controlled the scroll, so couldn't scroll back up. I realized at the very end of the game (lol) that those times the text scrolled past because it was too much, I should just have switched to "Text Only" mode in the menu. I even read the manual and it didn't even mention this "hint". Most text-based games PAUSE when the text box is full (some have arrows for scrolling), so you press enter or whatever and it continues to scroll.

And the poor spelling/grammar I kept seeing in the game was annoying, but kinda used to it, I read a lot of comments everywhere online every day (even on professional news sites, etc, I even see it in AAA games), and it doesn't matter if they are native English or not, young or old, even an English teacher, they all do it constantly. Like 's stuff where it shouldn't be, like "I like cookie's, they taste good", "Nice dog's. Mind if I pet them?", "Sweden is famous for it's meatballs". An example from this game is "There are four mask's hanging here". And don't get me started on there/their/they're and other similar things.
I know, I'm not perfect either, nor even a native English speaker, but I still at least care a bit about my grammar. When I correct someone on the internet, they are usually like "well its teh internet so who cares, and i can spell perfect if i want too", which IMO is BS most of the time. I actually have to stop and think, go out of my way to misspell and do broken grammar to the extent I often see (I'm OK with abbreviations like "imo" instead of "IMO", and typos), so for me it's easier and faster to just do it right.

Theres no intro, so was thinking of just staying on the first screen to show the credits below (I like to show as much as possible of a game, didnt this time tho, just a quick run-through), which lasts 1.5 mins, but would be too boring as we hear the same tune while playing as well, so added it in the end instead, as thats where we end up anyway after the outro... so didnt really add it, I just kept it in instead...... anywayyyy....
I let the music play once, then turned it off so we could hear some of the sound effects.
The walkthrough I used said if Garfield eats a lot of pizza he will see a pizza monster in the sewers. But I noticed if he eats loads, there will be TWO monsters. Wonder if there can be more, I didnt bother trying eating more.")

Hi there :)
Finally a new video. I decided to go with Shadow Warriors as Ive not played it before, and after doing some research like reading the manual, checking if theres different versions of the game, and watching some YouTube videos of other peoples longplays of this game - I wanted to do my own even more.
The videos of this game on YouTube were all pretty much played on a stock Amiga 500, as it runs soooo slow. Some had more speed than others but no video maintained a constant 25fps the game can run at. Like, on a stock A500, you get on average maybe 15fps, sometimes 17-19, at best when like nothing is moving on the screen you get the full 25 (which doesnt last long). So these other longplays goes up and down in speed constantly. So, I did mine with an expanded A1200 so it could keep the 25fps every second.
I suck in the beginning, only tested the controls and stuff for about 5 mins before actually longplaying it. Later I become pretty good with the throws. Throwing is so OP when mastered. I can probably play through this game again now and just use throws and never get hit.
I also noticed the game has two versions. One has the SPS number 1679, which is an alternative retail version (softpres.org), the other one has a lower number of 0830, so maybe it was the first one I guess. The only difference between these versions that I noticed was 0830 has the option to select either music or sound effects. None of the Amiga longplays of this game has been done with sound effects (AFAIK), nor did I see them change between them to show that option off on the title screen. So, I assume they all did the alternative retail version, as in that one theres music only (and seems thats the one I find most cracked versions of too, I did the ipf versions ofc, so unmodified). The manual says you can choose between sound/music by pressing S, but yeah... only seems to work with 0830.
At the end of the longplay I added the game over animation (but first show myself getting killed), and after that a small clip with sound effects. Theres loads more, but play it yourself to hear them :)
One thing I didnt like about this longplay is all those pop/click sounds. Normally stuff like this is caused by using save-states in most versions of WinUAE (its a video-output issue). But this is not the case in this longplay. One of the things that has bothered me in all WinUAE versions Ive ever tried is the sound popping/click at the end of sound effects/instruments, mainly when its completely silent afterwards. This is not noticeable in most games with music as they tend to not be completely silent here and there. I noticed the same sound problems in all those other longplays of this game as well. When I first discovered this many years ago, I assumed it was badly ripped sound effects or something, but I checked the files and they have no pops/clicks in them. Also, if I remember correctly, I didnt hear this sound issue in other Amiga emulators either, like WinFellow. Maybe itll be fixed one day, but dont think anyone has brought it up, most people dont seem to notice these things :) (reader: so why dont YOU bring it up then??? - Im lazy and hope others who might read this does it instead :P)")

As you might have noticed, I like to longplay series of games. Next up is going to be the RoboCop series (already did RoboCop 4 once, will link below).
This game has a shitty score, I read mostly negative reviews, as good ones was hard to find. A shitty port of the Atari ST version, That sampled speech on the title screen is hilarious. Nerdy, plummy voiced programmer & reverb effect, An amateur production to capitalize fast from the movie, Much harder than arcade version, Bad graphics & scrolling, etc etc.
I personally dont find it too bad, and the title picture is really nice. I do prefer the C64 version tho.
Three floppy versions exist and I only had a quick look, and only differences I noticed going from the title screen to the first level was the way it loads. This version I longplayed (SPS 2066) has the title screen showing until its finished loading the news thingy, but the other two just showed black instead and seemed to load for twice as long.
I preferred to use space to jump rather than down then up.
01:44 - This weapon sucks and I rather not pick it up, but doing it anyway to show it off so I dont have to pick it up again later. What sucks is the slow fire rate.
01:55 - Didnt destroy the boxes immediately because I wanted to show you can stand on the thingy above (I like to test stuff like this in games, to see whats possible, what others might not have tried).
02:24 - Shooting the guy to the right first, so I can be on the left side when I shoot the last guy as I want to be as far to the left as possible when the boss spawns. Funny how two enemies fell from the same window. But first I empty the ammo of the shitty weapon so I get the normal one back, which fires much faster. If I played this game normally without longplaying, I would not have picked up this 3-way shooter.
02:32 - Apparently a lot of people have a hard time understand what hes saying. Thank you for your cooperation.
04:28 - I was curious to see if I could climb the ladder or something like that by jumping off the boxes, but of course couldnt. I was pretty sure that wouldnt be a thing, but I like to pretend to myself when exploring a game that the developers might have left a cheat up there or something anyway :). The attempt wasnt recorded as it didnt lead to anything.
15:04 - At this moment I noticed I only had 5 shots left of this weapon, and decided to make it to the boss with at least 3 shots left, so skipped killing everything the rest of the way, but had to use one more to take out the turret and droid/robot or they would maybe have killed me, so left with 4. But then decided to shoot the turret shortly after as well, now only 3 left. But then at 15:32, I accidentally shot when trying to punch. I could have loaded a save state, but too lazy, so rather try my luck. I made it to the boss and these two shots were enough to kill him. I checked someone elses playthrough of this game on YouTube, and seems it would take 6-8 bullets with the normal weapon to kill him (was hard to judge). But shooting 8 normal shots is almost; or just as fast as 2 with the weapon I used.

An educational game to learn English as a French. Theres also a German version. They are pretty much identical, except the French stuff is replaced with German, and the colors look better as they are darker than in the French version (so I adjusted the contrast/brightness a bit to better match the German version). Another difference was theres more detail/leaves on the tree in the middle of the first level, the one at the left end of the fence. The rest seem to be identical (didnt look too thoroughly tho).
One problem I had was the keyboard, it was all messed up. Had to rebind loads of keys to be able to type properly. Q was A, Z was W, comma was semicolon, semicolon was M, 4 was apostrophe, apostrophe was /, etc etc etc. When typing stuff, it took a while for me to figure out how to move on to other fields. With my keyboard/input settings (which is pretty much default, and I tried other ones too) I move to another field by pressing numpad 8, but it goes from down to up. So if I wanted to move onto the next field/box on the first row, I had to press it many times as it would select each box from the bottom row first all the way up to where I wanted to go. So, sometimes I just answered the stuff from bottom up instead. Could also move the cursor left and right over the text with numpad 4 and 6, good for correcting errors. I couldnt be bothered with capitals (but did some at the end) as I had to turn on and off Caps Lock every time. Shift (usually right Shift) which normally works in other games didnt in this one. I also typed the wrong things every now and then so we could see the error messages. I use save-states so could have nailed everything from start to end if I wanted to :) (it shows the correct answer if youve failed twice, or just press enter twice)
I started on this longplay a month ago, LOL. I wanted to include everything, and its SOOO easy to miss something the way the game works. So had to replay parts over and over in different patterns to find the optimal one on each level. For example: on level one, to properly end the level (properly, as one can go to any level by clicking on the hole in the tree), one has to do certain things first before you can click on the tree (same tree as mentioned before) to complete the level, BUT there can be several things not done yet when the tree activates, which you would miss if you decided to complete the level.
Perhaps things could be made in a different order so things might make more sense... like when I was asked stuff and the right question was she had a book on her knees, but she didnt, she had thrown it away earlier. Some answers are just not right, IMO. The game assume Ive done this and that, thus expect the correct answer, which to me is not correct, as thats not how things went down. It doesnt even accept did not instead of didnt, which should be the same thing. But yeah, guess the didnt, using apostrophe was part of that training, or something.
One level I couldnt figure out how to complete is level 3. I tried everything I could think of. All kinds of orders, clicked everywhere on the screen. Nothing prompted the completion, so I click on the hole in the tree for the level selection.
The game has sound, but was only some speech on level 3 and 6. I think the one on level 6.
The rhyming part at 38:54 - Please, Speak, those two words do not rhyme! So I chose non and the game told me the right answer is oui, bullshit :P Guess it might have something to do with how they pronounce them? If its proper English, they do not rhyme, IMO. Or Im missing something with how this game-mode works.
When doing the final click on the Queen, it asks Do you want to play croquet, Alice ?, if you answer NO, she says How can you refuse a Queens offer, you insolent little thing. Off with her head (yeah, no period or exclamation mark). I of course chose YES, as seen in the video, but both answers have the same outcome.
