A new and free Amiga game, developed in the Scorpion Engine.
It's a very short game, only 4 short levels, and the bosses die too quickly and easily. So, I really took my time on each level, didn't quite just rush through, even goofed around on some of the bosses to make them last a bit longer. Still only a 9 minute longplay, and that's including the intro/outro and waiting a bit at the main menu for the spooky tune to play a bit before I started level 1.
Also, at 04:08, I noticed I could jump up into the ceiling and while up there run to the end of the level. I don't want to use "exploits" and stuff in games, and was thinking of skipping it and add it in one of the typical "extras" videos I sometimes do for my longplays, where I show stuff in a separate video that I didn't show in the longplay, but... as the level is so short anyway and the stuff below isn't much of a challenge, I at least ran for a bit up there and jumped back down shortly after, so I didn't go all the way and didn't have to make the extras video.
And yeah, massive clicking/popping in the audio, which some games get way more than others in WinUAE (emulator). The music/sound files are fine of course if played in an external player. Another thing this game got (which is kinda rare), mainly the "Intro" part is a high frequency beep in several places, starting at 00:37. Again, the music module plays fine in an external player of course, and all other videos I checked of this game on YouTube have all the same beeps/clicks/pops in the same places. So kinda easy to see which recordings were from emulation :). Also, the volume of the game is pretty low (not the fault of the emulator), normally I amp the volume a bit if needed, but didn't bother this time.

As there exist no longplay of this game with the ending, I felt it was time to do it. Theres a very good reason why no video shows the ending, its broken in like all versions. YouTube only seem to have one playthrough of this game, which is by me 15 years ago (on both World of Longplays and my other YT channel that got banned because I upped 2 Family Guy clips... yeah, YouTube was worse then, didnt take much, had more subscribers then too, after that it was only on WoL).
I always use ipf version when possible (not cracked, unmodified version of the disk(s)), unless its a game on many disks and it loads a lot, then I install it to HD if possible (without WHDLoad), if not possible I use WHDLoad as last resort (the reason I prefer adf/ipf over WHDLoad is because WHDLoad is sensitive to savestates and other stuff, I often run into problems when using it).
So, in this case I used ipf, got to the end, and theres an outro but has broken graphics. It asks for disk one before the outro loads, so I tried different cracked versions and also different version numbers (and different settings in the emulator, like chipset, cycle-exact on/off, floppy speeds, which I didnt think would make a difference anyway as everything else looked fine), like v1.0, v1.01, v1.1. All v1.0 were broken, all v1.01 were broken. I even tried saving the game (couldnt with the one I used as its ipf, they can apparently not have write-protection removed, so saved to an adf version) and put the saves on other versions and loaded the saves with those versions of the disks so no game file at all was used from the one I played (except the save file) to the end with, but they of course still had the broken outro.
Now there was only v1.1 left, which was the WHDLoad version, did the same there, took the save file and put it with the game and loaded it, and it worked, it loaded the ending without errors... BUT, Im not sure if its the actual ending. The one that I got from the floppy versions had moving parts and sound, but the WHDLoad version only showed a static image. Maybe they couldnt find a non-broken version or fix it, so they made their own ending. I read the WHDLoad notes of the installer and it didnt mention anything about that, couldnt even find anything mentioned over at English Amiga Board (and other places I looked). Also, I took a quick look at the game files for the floppy version and compared it to the ones in the WHDLoad version, looks identical, same amount of files and file sizes. So if they did make their own outro, maybe they matched the size (sometimes there are reasons to do so).")

This game has always been on my to-do list as I love everything Egypt-related, but never bothered to longplay it as theres no instructions anywhere on how the game works. The game only have a few short clips on YouTube of people not knowing what to do, and as this game came with a German magazine (Amiga Fun, September 1990), theres no scanned or documented manual for it.
On the disk theres the game and a text file (in German, that I translated to the best of my ability) that is just vague with the insrtuctions, like (Im paraphrasing) click here to get to where you buy/sell ships, right click on a port to get other type of info, on the main screen is where you see your ships moving around, some tips are to always keep 2000-3000 gold available, when selling ships try several times as the prices might change etc... The only REAL thing I learned from these instructions and tips was what The Temple part was for, as I couldnt figure that out by myself. Its for donating to the gods so shit are less likely to happen on the sea (monsters and pirates attacking etc). Didnt really seem like donating did much difference, especially not the every-now-and-then stupid ship crash that happened so I had to buy a new one.
Pretty much the only thing you do in this game (like 95% of it) is staring at the main screen where you see your ships move, as you just send them out again once they return, and you cant be elsewhere if you want the game to progress, as everything is paused if youre not on this screen and have exited all the sub-menus (like, cant even check out stuff in a port where its info is shown in the big black box to the right). So, when the clock on your mouse cursor is not active (or you dont hear the sea sound), nothings happening.
I kept to the small 10k ships only as I didnt feel it was worth buying the more expensive ones. With these 10-cargo-limited ships, I had more control when buying/selling, what I mean by that is like...
* With small ships only I could buy and sell with more precision. So if a place only had like 15 of something I wanted to buy, I sent 2 ships, and to not waste the other 5, as both ships = 20 in cargo space (T), I also checked the place if they had something I could sell to them, and made that 5 if possible. Sometimes I was only after building materials, so if a place only had... for example 8, I sent one ship, and then filled the other 2 with either 2 other materials that were cheap to buy, or stuff I could sell to them.
* Kinda the same as the above example, but also not. I feel it was more often than not that ports didnt have more than maybe 10-20 of stuff I wanted to buy/sell, so would be wasteful sending a bigger ship. And often several ports had like 10 each I wanted to buy/sell, so was better to have this cargo space split amongst different ships so they all could go to a place each. Having a bigger ship would only be ok-ish in late-game I guess, as in the beginning, if you saved all your money to get one big ship, trading would be sooo slow as you could only go back and forth between one port at a time (and pretty much never fill its space). I didnt like the idea of having some small ones and some bigger ones, would just take more work then to keep track of things (so didnt bother naming my ships properly, like what their loading space was, as I knew they all were 10 T).
* When a ship crashes it would be more easily replaced. Maybe the more expensive ones have less chance of crashing, or never crash at all, dont know.
So, basically, heres my short HOW TO PLAY:
1. When you start the game, buy 2 of the cheapest ships (10k each)
2. Buy about 500 acres of corn
3. Set taxes to 20-25% (not really needed as you get very little gold from taxes anyway (IMO), but if at 0% you could need more acres of corn later as the people multiply quicker)
4. Now all you do is buy cheap stuff (always prioritize getting building materials, and never sell it, ofc) and sell for more, and when you have 10k, buy another ship (keep repeating until max ships)
5. Once you have enough materials for the pyramid, like maybe 22k or something like that (didnt check exactly how much was needed per % of completion of the pyramid), and enough money of course (250k-ish), put all workers (or a lot, the more = the faster the materials are used up and the faster the pyramid gets built... I know, kinda obvious)... to work.
I was close to quit many times as it was sooooo boring to do the same thing over and over again for hours, as this game has very little challenge or variety in the stuff you need to do. But I kept going as no longplay had been made of this game, and I didnt worry about there not being an ending, or it being broken because of a bad dump of the game, as I cheated and gave myself loads of gold and materials when trying to figure out how the game worked, before playing for real.")

Just had a quick runthrough and noticed in the end that I had accidentally killed prisoners. Looking through the video it seems its the guys on the second level (2:24 is an example). I thought they were holding a canon in front of them or something, but was chains I needed to shoot to break them, oops :P. I did shoot some, but guess I shot the guy after as well, or the guy only and not chain. Oh well.
If I got no prisoner kills (or maybe just a few), the message would have said: EXCELLENT SCORE !!!, WELL DONE (yes, with the comma).
Could only find a cracked version of the game (and WHDLoad), hence the mouse cursor with its TT. I want the original one so checked the WHDLoad version and it just had the basic workbench mouse cursor as it didnt come with a devs folder (so no system-configuration file). I feel they would have made one looking like a crosshair or something. I was thinking of replacing it with my own so it looks like it fits the game, but kept the one it came with. Maybe the original one is the one shown in this video, just minus the TT. Probably, I guess... dunno :P... *farts*

Longplayed this about 16 years ago. Videos got horrible picture quality back then if they were natively lo-res and werent upscaled (kinda still the same now, but was worse back then). So, was time to redo the longplay so a quality version exist.
Man, I struggled hard in many areas, got shot to hell over and over again, couldnt even shoot back as I kept getting staggered. Wasnt until I got to the city level where the car kept shooting me, and I couldnt understand why in my old video I had no problem with many of the battles. Turns out I have a SHIELD I can use whenever I want! LOL! (been so long so forgot) Missed that in the quick glance I did of the instructions. I never noticed the shield activating over and over again in my old video because of the shitty quality it got on YouTube (also watched it in a small window... I can see the shield effect now if I zoom in, but ye, not super clear like now in this new video).")
