CRG | Amiga 1200 FPU Part 2 - Adding a 40Mhz Crystal Oscillator @CRG | Uploaded October 2022 | Updated October 2024, 4 hours ago.
A couple of months back we fitted an FPU to my A1200 with the TF1230 accelerator. That card doesn't have an FPU socket so we fitted one directly to the Amiga motherboard but in that position it was running at only 14Mhz. In the previous video we got it up to 28Mhz, then tried taking the 54Mhz clock from the accelerator but that didn't work properly.
To be honest I wasn't happy with how it was left and so in this video its time to revisit the FPU mod and fit a separate 40Mhz crystal oscillator to try and run this FPU at its rated 40Mhz.
