back in my AMVs era...kidding, I do love making edits a lot lately, but this song reminds me of Amethio so much that I had to make something longer 💜
I don't think it's about breaking away from his grandfather, but from the toxic environment of Explorers that tricked him and never believed in him, which led to Gibeon doing the same when Spinel framed Amethio for betraying Explorers by helping Liko.
Amethio back in episode 89 said: "You founded Exceed for the advancement of people and Pokemon. From all I have seen - you have gone to great lenghts in pursuit of that goal. As your grandson...Rather, as a member of the Explorers, I vowed that I would inherit your will. Even without using the Rakurium. I'll find something we can do for the future of Pokemon and people. I will devote my life to searching for it".
And that's exactly what he did. He found his own path. He found each of Zygarde's (Gibeon's partner) cells to help erase the Rakurium, helped Liko to destroy the core and deafeat Spinel. I couldn't be prouder of how far Amethio has come since the first Horizons episode when he was still an enemy. And I'm not the only one being proud right now, Amethio, sweetheart, Gibeon is so proud of you, too. I'm sure of it.
