Right now, the only clear interest the United States seems to have is in hurting China, hurting Russia, or anyone who won’t play by our rules.
That’s not a strategy — that’s a dead end.
We’ve known for decades that we’re dependent on others for rare earth elements, not just in the Department of Defense, but across our entire industrial base.
And yet, what have we done to fix it?
We haven’t invested, we haven’t built alternatives, we’ve just complained — and now we’re angry that we’re dependent on our rivals.
It’s almost childish.
You can’t build a future by trying to punish the world for being more prepared than you are.
There’s no future in this approach — only decline.
