At first glance you might think Puerto Rico's world-famous slums look like they aren't a very happy place. But when you get out of the car and talk with people, you realize these people are just living their lives and doing their best.

In this dispatch, I rode around inside of Puerto Rico's ghettos and documented the lives of today's working poor. Many of the people in these neighborhoods are undocumented immigrants or citizens of the US who collect benefits. Some work hard to survive.
