As a result, the breed is strong, muscular and powerful. They also have working tempers because they are designed to keep on working even with distractions. The sheer power, size and ferocity of this animal make it one of the most formidable dogs on earth. The average male American Bulldog stands at 28’’ at the shoulder, weighs 120 pounds and 16 inches tall at the withers, with a body shape that is muscular and rectangular.
The average female American Bulldog stands 26-28 inches at the shoulder, weighs 100-120 pounds and 16 inches tall at the withers, with a body shape that is more rounded than her masculine counterpart. These statistics may not seem all that intimidating until you meet an angry male or female in person. once you do you will have a whole new level of respect for these canines. American Bulldog training does not have to be a chore, and while it can sometimes be extensive, it can also be a lot of fun for both you and your pet.

As soon as the Bulldog was jumped on, it targeted the strongest of the three dogs. This was a superb move by the bulldog, once the strongest goes down that accomplices always loose their confidence and don't attack as viciously.
The rewards of getting it “right” with this breed are extensive, so take the time and put in the effort to gain the needed knowledge to properly train this breed.

They will spring into action if there is an intruder. Part of the reason they make such good guard dogs is because they are incredibly strong. But that is not the case with every dog. Some dogs are skittish and afraid of some things and if a dog has been abused or mistreated it wont always protect the people it loves or itself. It might just run away if something happens. But if you treat a dog right and take care of it providing all of its needs including love it will give its life to protect you from a threat.
But it is your responsibility to make sure that it can tell the difference between a real threat and someone just walking passed you or your home otherwise. it could end up getting put down for attacking or killing someone so proper socialization and training is a must especially for big dogs. This dog stood its ground really well, and managed to fend off the attackers quite bravely.
