A rare home wax recording of Archie Gottler's patriotic ditty, 'America, I Love You', dating from around 1915 to 1928, according to the USCB Cylinder Archive. Performers Unknown. This song was described by the Mayor of Boston and future Governor of Massachusetts, James Michael Curley, as the 'greatest popular song of its kind ever written.'
I was going to make a whole compilation to celebrate 250 years of the United States of America, but I didn't have time to finish it. But I think a simpler video like this portrays the sentiment quite humbly and authentically. You can check out the link below for my earlier patriotic compilation.

A paschal piece by William Henry Tyers, recorded in 1916 or 1917. The Domino Band didnt have many recordings, but it seems they preferred salon waltzes like this one. Erroneously, his name is spelled Tyres.
Will H. Tyers (1870-1924) was a famous arranger who gained prominence for his intermezzos and pacific island dances (Maori), (Panama) , as well as his arrangements of famous tunes such as Scott Joplins The Sycamore and Tom Turpins Harlem Rag.

One of the most famous Halloween ragtime songs, about some skeletons dancing to ragtime in a graveyard.
Percy Wenrich was the composer of The Smiler, Peaches and Cream, and That Skeleton Rag, and he was married to popular singer Dolly Connolly. They were quite the successful duo. I only wish I could find the rare test recordings of them singing together in 1922.

Mike Wofford plays a famed Treemonisha opera segment, in which Treemonishas parents yearn for her return from her captors, in the improv style of smooth jazz.

A Real Slow Drag is the most popular song in Joplins opera, Treemonisha. Treemonisha is the greatest American opera, and it tells the story of a woman who is abandoned at birth and grows up to become a leader of her community after she is kidnapped by evildoers. Though it would only be performed once in Joplins lifetime, lacking orchestration and heavily abridged, it experienced a grand revival in 1972, and went on to win a Pulitzer Prize in 1976.

An exceedingly scarce cylinder recording of a rag from the cakewalk craze. And whats more, it was written by a woman, Sadie Koninsky. She was one of the most notable female composers of the era, and one of the first to use her birth name rather than a male-sounding pseuydonym. Eli Greens Cake Walk (1898) is her other famous work, but she continued to compose until 1918.
The cover art is outdated and derogatory. It is presented in its original form for historical purposes.
