In this video we take a detailed look at the new AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D, launching alongside the existing 9800X3D - rather than replacing it.
On paper the changes appear minor, with a small boost clock increase and no obvious architectural differences. Using fresh test data across productivity, efficiency and gaming workloads, we explore where the 9850X3D does improve, where it does not, and how it behaves compared to both the 9800X3D and the older 7800X3D.
We also examine power draw, Curve Optimizer behaviour, memory scaling and real-world gaming performance at 1080p and 1440p, alongside a comparison against Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285K to provide wider context.
Pricing and positioning play a major role in this launch, particularly with both Ryzen 7 X3D processors remaining on sale at the same time. Whether this is a straightforward refresh or part of a longer-term strategy is something we discuss in detail.
Full benchmarks, test methodology and buying advice are covered in the video.

![MSI Built a 1000W RTX 5090… And It hit 1076W
Today we are checking out what is undoubtedly the most insane graphics card to pass through the KitGuru labs – MSI’s RTX 5090 Lightning Z. Not only is it cooled with a 360mm AIO, but MSI says its the worlds first graphics card with an 8in LCD screen, while it also offers an Extreme BIOS that is rated for up to 1000W. That’s only scratching the surface of what this card has up its sleeve, though, so let’s dive in and take a closer look at this beast of a GPU...
