The game runs INSANELY better than the previous driver. As you can see there are still some performance dips here and there, but the framerate now actually feels quite consistent (that is, it doesn't just tank immediately while you are moving the camera, so it doesn't feel mega laggy anymore). I am sure there are some other settings beyond object detail that can be adjusted for better performance.
I can only assume that any performance problems I am having are related to my CPU and no the card itself at this point. Maybe worth trying out for people with an Intel rig.
