In our test we showed that under relatively constricted airflow environments the AMD R9 290X cooler is very poor, producing a lot of noise. Although the card does produce a lot of heat after market coolers have shown that the card can still be kept quiet. In contrast the Nvidia GTX 780 remains relatively quiet even in such a tough test.
