The producer was in the wrong place at the wrong time, his rep tells Billboard.
Producer and MPC wizard AraabMUZIK was shot during an attempted robbery, according to several tweets from the musicians collaborators.
DukeDaGod, the musicians manager, posted an Instagram photo of a somber group surrounding AraabMUZIK, born Abraham Orellana, in a hospital bed.
Everyone wish my brother @araabmuzik a healthy & pleasant recovery!!!! #Mvpofthempc #Soblessed, he wrote.
On Thursday evening, a rep for the musician confirmed the news to Billboard.
Rumors have begun to circulate and first and foremost, we want to let everyone know that AraabMUZIK is currently alive and well, AraabMUZIKs camp said in a statement. He was out in his neighborhood last night with friends and unfortunately the victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is recovering now and police are investigating the crime. We appreciate all the concern and fan support and Araab is looking forward to a speedy recovery and returning to the stage as soon as he can.
Earlier on Thursday, rapper Avatar Darko, who has worked with AraabMUZIK on tracks such as the recent Vampire, shed light on the situation on Twitter.

Nagoya, Japan-based singer Noah has announced plans to release an EP this month with SELA., a California-rooted producer whos undoubtedly best known for helping out on Kitty Prydes D.A.I.S.Y. Rage EP.
The two combine on an aptly named EP Noah x SELA. Skim your eyes down at the tracklist below and cast your ears on Dune, a new track from the split-release thats due out on Japanese label flau on 15th April.
flau had a hand in introducing the two artists, were informed. Noahs side is distinctly informed by soft, melting synthetics and an R&B aesthetic. SELA. takes things down a different route, while aiming for the same, ambient-styled purpose. flaus a fascinating label, with DIY favourite Cokiyu and Cuushe on its roster. The same, dreamy landscape that ties those artists together is an ever-present here.
