First new song since 2022! My adventures through Stauf's mansion in various timelines and realities brought me to make this, a song about the story of The 7th Guest.
Download available for backers on patreon.com/davidxnewton (or just rip it from here, I'm not the police)
Backgrounds are taken from all four of The 7th Guest games.
Introducing Penny as the collection of haunted children :)
"Let’s take the time to find out what’s inside
Away from all this wind and rain
The six arrive, the fire lights their eyes
Invited here to learn to play the Game…"
- George Alistair Sanger, "The Game"
He lived in shadows
Just a common thief and drifter
Surviving any way he could
Spurned and scorned by all
Then on a moonless night
He heard the demons whisper
And blessed with a vision
He carved the first doll
Every wonder he made
Held a secret, a murderous taint
And as the children did fall
He built up the walls
Of the house to contain their souls
Weeping angels
Weeping angels
So came the six that night
Their eyes alight with fire
To the house of illusions
Disguising the truth
Drawn by the promise
Of their innermost desire
For fortune, for power,
For magic and youth
Only he knows the rules
Of this puzzle demented and cruel
And as they suffer their sins
The circle begins
And the house will restrain their souls
Weeping angels
Weeping angels arise!
"Old Man Stauf built a house
And filled it with his toys
Six guests were invited one night
Their screams the only noise
Blood inside the library
Blood right up the hall
Dripping down the attic stairs
Hey guests, try not to fall!
Nobody came out that night
Not one was ever seen
But Old Man Stauf is waiting there
Crazy, sick and mean"
- The children of Harley-on-the-Hudson
Now - the stranger awakes
Each path that he takes
Repeats through the years
In this hideous maze
Each puzzle unsealed
Combines and reveals
The key to it all
Only he knows the rules
Of this puzzle demented and cruel
But as the seventh ascends
The circle might end
And their souls will be free again
Weeping angels
Weeping angels arise!
At the top of the house
There's an unholy place
Where timelines entangle
The madman awaits
The ego calls out from the haze
He's finally breaking the circle
And the toymaker's evil
It crumbles and fades
In light from the souls
Of the children unchained
Their spirits arise from the curse
Fly free from the house
And the maker descending in flames
