I love Goldenflower. She is a wonderful character, and I never got tired of reading about her. She always came off as wise and kind, but certainly there was a time when she had not yet gained that wisdom, when her love towards Tigerclaw blinded her intuition.
This song reflects the stages of Tigerclaw's and Goldenflower's relationship, from the blissful beginnings to a painful end. I tried to create a calm, almost hypnotic feel that is jolted back into reality with the chorus. My main inspirations for the sounds and instrumentation were Joji and Glass Animals.
I wanted to up the quality of these videos, starting with having a much more dynamic video, and ditching writing out the lyrics for time's sake. I'm putting the lyrics here in the description, and will try to set up closed captioning for them as well. Let me know wjat you think of this style in the comments! I like it, but it slows down my process, so I may just start making my lyric/song videos with a singular image for the entire video, we'll see.
OH, also, did you notice the little vocal part that came in during the bridge that was singing "the stars?" That is a replica of the ending of "Beneath the Stars" (found here : youtu.be/dfviZXFp9yY). You can theorize what that motif represents.
