Amazon has a huge price jump on most Kindle e-reader models. The average price increase is between $40 and $60 each.

The 16GB Kindle Paperwhite has seen its price jump to $199 for the ad-supported model, up from $159. Meanwhile, the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is now available for $249, reflecting a significant overnight hike of $50. In addition, the basic Kindle’s price has risen by $40. It’s currently priced at $149 with ads, and $169 without. The price of the Kindle Colorsoft has gone up as well. The 16GB version is now $289 instead of $249.
