My first trip to Iquitos to drink ayahuasca... I took a bus from Lima to Pucallpa, then a boat for five days to Iquitos, where I met don Juan and attended five ayahuasca ceremonies. It was the most profound experience of my life and included an invitation from don Juan to live with him and become his apprentice. I moved into his home in January of 2004 and spent the next four years living with and learning from him.
