Fatima, Portugal, in the municipality of Ourem, is home of the Sanctuary of Fatima. The place where the 1917 Marian apparitions to three shepherd children at the Cova da Iria occurred. These three children were Lúcia Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Lady's apparition with the Miracle of the Sun witnessed by thousands of pilgrims on 13 October 1917. During this day, the 3 children knelt before the Lady on the spot where the framed post with 2 hanging lamps was.
