Incredible cloud formations moved across the sky over Santa Cruz, California, last night. We captured this short time-lapse as the clouds changed shape and color above the city.

These wild clouds moved across the sky incredibly fast, twisting and stretching into shapes people described as ribbons, snakes, sideways tornadoes, a moving ocean and even a “river of souls.”

Sometimes the best show in Santa Cruz is happening right above us.
