This is the start of my Amazing Animals series! I'm so excited and proud to show you what I've been working on for the last few months!
I want to show a different side to fluid art and how we aren't limited to using just what is painted onto the canvas. Utilising paint skins and cutting tool, you can create amazing artworks with depth, dimension and interest.
This is a red-tailed black cockatoo, a rare species here in Australia. They have a very different call to a regular gold crested cockatoo, and are so beautiful when you see one in the wild. Their feathers are a deep, glossy black with the most amazing spray of vivid red in the tail. My aim was to recreate the gloss and vibrancy of those feathers, and I am so happy with the result!
