My second attempt at working portable in the UKAC 70cm contests with my do-it-all trusty Yaesu FT-991A and my refurbished 18 element Jaybeam Parabeam from the 1980s. I stuck this one out having abandoned two sessions earlier in the year due to really bad weather on the tops of the moors.
As forecast, the weather was awful, but the band conditions made things worse. There's some really weak signals in this contest. Can you make them out? Are your ears up to the task?! How did I get on??
