My acoustic cover of the song "Amarillo Sleeps On My Pillow" by the criminally underrated band, Fair To Midland from their second album, "Arrows & Anchors". Sadly this immensely unique and talented band are no more, but hopefully I can turn on a few to their music through this rendition. The debut MRV EP New Reality, is an homage to the horror-infused hard rock and heavy metal of the 70s and 80s, such as Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper, with a modern rock spin. The song Black Moon tells the story of someone fighting the anger and fury that lives inside of us, often hidden down deep. Its that feeling that you are not in control of your emotions or your feelings, and are helpless to stop yourself from bringing destruction to anyone in your path. Told from the perspective of a man living with the curse of the werewolf, the music video is a loving tribute to the Universal Monsters and the golden age of horror. Specifically, The Wolf Man starring Lon Chaney Jr, which is one of my all-time favorite films. Creating a story around the concept of transforming into a werewolf is something Ive always wanted to do, and Im incredibly proud of how Black Moon came together.
