A straight up, raw view of the climb from Camp 2 to Camp 3 on Ama Dablam. The Grey Tower/Grey Couloir is the often considered the most difficult span of the route.
Right out of the gate you do an traverse to the bottom of the Grey Tower, a blocky granite mixed climb of about 1.5 pitches. It is loose, very loose. The exposure is amazing. The tower can range from snow and icy to dry and dusty. Climbers above will certainly and unavoidably drop ice and scree. The Grey Tower is about 75 degrees of blocky icy granite. Super fun but also super dangerous if people are kicking things down on you.
After the Grey Tower, an amazing knife edge traverse leads to the Mushroom Ridge walking a tight rope at 20,000'/6200M. Stunning. Amazing and surreal, you'll arrive at Camp 3.
