Like our sister planet Venus, these worlds, though similar in mass to Earth, are in the grip of a runaway greenhouse effect scorching and squashing any hope for surface Life. It’s possible that the Life that these worlds used to host in their early development persisted, but that it was forced to be suspended high up into the more temperate clouds.
