Super Earths As rocky worlds with oceans, climates and an atmosphere comparable to Earth, it has been ventured that those about twice as massive as Earth could actually be even more conducive and suitable for Life. That is because these planets would be more tectonically active and have an even stronger magnetic field. You might think that these much more massive versions of Earth would have an immense gravity, but that is actually compensated somewhat by the greater radius.
A Super Earth twice the mass of Earth, for instance, would have a surface gravity that is only 25% higher.
Compared to Earth, any life forms might still be quite squat, although they could adapt by bringing down their body’s density by for instance using air sacks.
However, at lower planetary densities, the surface gravity could actually approach that of Earth.
