Back in episode 71, I reviewed the iconic Genesis title, Altered Beast, well known not only for it's arcade origins, but also due to it being the original pack in title for the Genesis, before a certain blue hedgehog came along.

But, did you know, in the United States, before the Altered Beast appeared on the Genesis, it appeared on the Master System? Well, it did, and today I'm looking at that version of the game. It's...not great. I can't deny, it does resemble Altered Beast in places, but unfortunately, the Master System just doesn't appear to be able to be able to pull it off, or at least the developers in 1989 couldn't quite figure it out.
